Today I spent some time thinking about the way I sell my bags.
Recently, I started trying a lottery system for sales.
In the past, many bags would sell out very quickly after being listed. I am very grateful for that, but it also meant that people who were simply browsing or who arrived later often did not have the chance to purchase.
Most of my bags are one-of-a-kind, and my production pace is quite slow.
Because of that, it often happens that someone finds a bag they like but discovers that it has already been sold.
I also receive many messages asking if custom orders are possible, but since I do not make bags by order, I have to politely decline them.
For these reasons, I thought it might be nice to try a lottery system so that more people could have a fair chance.
This time I set the period to five days as an experiment.
However, after starting, I felt that perhaps a shorter period might have worked as well. Most entries came within the first few hours, and after that things became quiet.
When trying something new, there are always things you only learn after starting.
I am still experimenting, but I hope to find a way that feels comfortable and enjoyable for the people who visit my shop.
It is a small shop, but I hope to continue it quietly, one step at a time.
The lottery will be open until March 7, so if you are interested, please feel free to take a look at the shop.
