Today, I want to write about a big, oversized blue sweater I made.
This time, I didn’t use my usual top-down method. Instead, I knitted each part separately—the front, the back, and the sleeves—and then joined them together. Because of this, I was able to change the colors and textures for each section, which made the process even more enjoyable.
I mainly used blue yarn and a lot of soft mohair to create a fluffy texture. For the back, I chose a mustard yellow color. It turned out to be so beautiful that I kept thinking, “This color is really nice,” while knitting.
The size is quite large. When I tried it on, I honestly thought it might be a bit too big. But oversized clothes are popular now, and when I wear it loosely, it looks very cute. I realized that this relaxed size gives the sweater its special charm.
One of the most fun parts was decorating the edges. I made them wide and playful, using neon pink and neon orange. Changing the border colors completely changed the mood of the sweater, so working on this part was especially exciting.
Both the blue and the yellow are my favorite colors, and together they match better than I expected. When I finished, I felt that this was a sweater I could never make again in exactly the same way. It is truly one of a kind.
Because of the mohair, the fabric has a slight transparency. You can faintly see what’s underneath, yet it is still warm and fluffy. It feels light, soft, and comforting.
I spent a lot of time and heart on this piece. It is a special sweater that I could only make at this moment in my life.
